In this episode, our host Jinane Ghattas speaks with Prof. Françoise Meunier. Prof. Meunier is a Belgian oncologist, former Director General of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), Vice-President of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium, and founder of the European Initiative on Ending Discrimination against Cancer Survivors. Together they discuss the need for the right to be forgotten as a legal protection mechanism in fighting discrimination against cancer survivors. From Belgium’s state of play to the need for a harmonised European framework, Prof. Meunier shares her insights on the progress made, the remaining challenges, and why equal rights and dignity for cancer survivors must remain a policy priority.
